Dragon Half is a quirky RPG built around a board game framework. You roll dice to advance across a colorful grid where each square type triggers distinct outcomes. Some spaces let you collect resources or items while others kick off animated combat scenes requiring precise button timing to land big hits. The turn-based progression mixes strategy with bursts of arcade-style action as you navigate obstacles and opponents. The game adapts a chaotic manga premise where a dragon girl named Mink chases love and a human transformation. Its blend of tactical movement and timed battles feels fresh even by modern standards. Though largely overlooked outside Japan, retro players often praise its creative mechanics and anime-inspired charm. The story’s blend of romance and absurdity matches the game’s offbeat energy perfectly.
One of the games based on Mita Ryuusuke's eponymous manga. The story focuses on the manga's protagonist, a cute half-human, half-dragon girl named Mink. She is in love with a pop singer and dragon-slayer Dick Saucer; however, to win his love, Mink has to find a magical potion to turn her into a human. In the game, Mink and her friend Lufa and Pia are having a vacation on the beach, listening to Dick Saucer's concert on the radio. When Dick mentions Mink in his "special thanks" speech, she decides to find him no matter what, even if it means changing her own nature.
