Dragon Keeper starts with a kingdom in ruins after a witch curses your wedding and imprisons the princess. Exiled and desperate, you travel to a mountain to raise dragons as your only hope of fighting back. The game revolves around managing a dragon sanctuary where you breed, feed, and train creatures while crafting magical jewels. Between tending to your growing reptile population, you must defend against waves of heroes sent to steal your dragons or destroy your base. Combat happens in real time with simple but tense mechanics that balance offense and defense. Since 2011, the game has carved out a small but loyal audience for its charming art and surprisingly deep strategies. Players note the satisfying loop of nurturing dragons and using them in battle, though the difficulty spikes can feel abrupt. With a runtime of around 15-20 hours and optional challenges, it’s a bite-sized mix of base-building and action that feels more substantial than its price tag suggests. The iOS and PC ports let you play anywhere, though the touch controls on mobile take some getting used to.
