Dragon Spirit is a 1987 vertical shoot-em-up where you play Amul, a warrior who transforms into a blue dragon to rescue a princess and thwart a demon’s plans. You blast enemies with fire and bombs while grabbing power-ups that let you unleash special moves, homing missiles, and more. The game throws you through nine fast-paced levels, each ending with a showdown against a giant beast, before the final face-off with the ancient serpent Zawell. The game’s mix of speed and strategy has kept it a cult favorite, with its original arcade feel preserved across platforms from the Nintendo Entertainment System to the Wii. It supports two-player co-op, letting friends take turns or team up for tougher stages.
