Dragon Warrior Monsters is a turn-based RPG where you collect and train creatures to battle in random encounters. You can merge two monsters into a stronger variant and manage a farm to store unused beasts. The story follows Terry as he searches for his kidnapped sister Milly in a prequel to Dragon Quest VI. Battles use traditional grid-based mechanics with strategic positioning. Players praise the deep monster fusion system and varied encounters. Though over 25 years old, it remains a cult favorite for its addictive creature management and tactical depth. The Game Boy Color version’s portability helped it build a dedicated following despite its niche mechanics.

Storyline

In the days before Dragon Quest VI, when Terry and Milly were just children, a strange monster appeared one night and snatched Milly away. Soon after, another monster, similar to the kidnapper, appeared and told Terry his sister was kidnapped by the evil Warubou. He informs Terry that his name is Watabou and must accompany him to the Kingdom of GreatTree.
