A mobile and handheld RPG with cooperative multiplayer elements Dragon's Dogma Quest lets players build characters tackle quests and team up with others in a persistent world. Combat uses touch controls for iOS or Vita buttons with real time action and class based progression. The game leans into the same dark fantasy setting as its bigger brother but simplifies the mechanics for on the go play. Released in late 2013 the game ran on Capcom's own infrastructure which limited its reach. Service shut down within a year due to low player numbers but the game still holds a small following for its polished portability. With bite sized dungeons and daily challenges it offered a quick fix of monster slaying action. The Vita version in particular shows how capable the handheld was for RPG fans on the move.
