DreamWorks Dragons Dawn of New Riders is an action RPG where you control two characters Scribbler and Patch as they fight to stop a corrupted dragon from enslaving their world. The game blends real time combat with quest driven exploration across diverse environments from icy peaks to dense forests. You collect and upgrade various dragon companions each with distinct abilities that affect how you approach battles and puzzles. The story unfolds through scripted cutscenes and interactive dialogue choices though the pacing can feel uneven at times. The game features over 30 different dragon types to discover and customize which helps keep combat fresh. While the open world is reasonably sized it offers enough variety in terrain and optional challenges to hold attention. With a Metacritic score of 71 it shows solid but not spectacular execution. Available on multiple platforms including Switch and Stadia makes it accessible to most players. The single player campaign takes around 15-20 hours to complete with additional time for side content.
