Drums of War is a turn-based strategy game where you build and lead an army through evolving battles. Recruit up to 16 units, each gaining experience and strength as they fight. Between conflicts you hire new troops, stock up on potions, and equip artifacts looted from past victories. Every unit has action points to spend on movement, attacks, or spells while environmental objects like trees can be manipulated or destroyed to shift the battlefield. Units can be moved freely during your turn letting you adjust tactics on the fly. The game emphasizes simplicity in execution with depth in planning. No complex calculations or memorization required just quick judgment calls. A built-in campaign editor lets players design and share custom battle series complete with story text and rewards. Released in 2014 for PC this game focuses on tight tactical loops and unit progression. Its blend of resource management and terrain interaction creates distinct challenges across each conflict.

Storyline

In Drums of War you play the role of a hero-leader. As the campaigns unfold the size of your armies can increase by up to 16 varied units. By participating in battles, all of the units become more experienced while naturally getting stronger. Players have the ability to hire new recruits, buy potions and distribute artifacts obtained in battles between fights. Each unit can be outfitted with one artifact and two potions. In addition to common units the player's army can include up to three unique heroes.
