Duck Hunt is a classic shooting game from 2004 that puts you in the field with a trusty Zapper light gun. The goal is simple: blast ducks as they fly overhead. In most modes you crouch in a swampy first-person view while a dog barks to flush birds into the air. You get three shots per duck and must act fast as they vanish if missed. Mode A lets one player shoot while another controls the duck’s path. Mode B ramps up the chaos with two birds at once. A third mode swaps ducks for clay pigeons in a similar timed target challenge. The game’s charm lies in its old-school simplicity and tight controls. Despite its age it holds up well with a brisk 8.2/10 on MobyGames and 8.3/10 on IGDB. The difficulty scales smoothly as birds move faster and allow fewer errors which keeps things tense. The co-op option in mode A adds a rare social twist for its era.
