Dune: Ornithopter Assault puts you in the cockpit of a flying vehicle for a first-person shooter experience on the Game Boy Advance. You pilot an ornithopter through combat scenarios while managing flight mechanics and shooting enemies. The game was finished as a single-player title but never saw release due to publisher Cryo Interactive going bankrupt before launch. A multiplayer mode was planned but cut from the final version entirely. The story later resurfaced under a different name when Pixel Games UK acquired the rights and removed all Dune references. It came out as Elland: The Crystal Wars with no mention of the original setting. This history makes the unreleased GBA title a notable piece of gaming trivia for collectors who track canceled projects. Players interested in flight sims from that era might find this obscure entry worth digging up despite its messy release path.
