Dynasty Wars is a side-scrolling beat 'em up where you ride a horse through waves of enemies in fast-paced combat. Switch between mounted charges and on-foot brawling to dispatch infantry and archers. The game offers single player or co-op modes, with simple but responsive controls designed for quick action. Set during a fictionalized Three Kingdoms conflict, the game follows four warriors fighting to reclaim power from warlords. Though released in 1989, its historical themes and straightforward brawler mechanics earned it a cult following. The ZX Spectrum and C64 versions remain standout ports among retro arcade fans.

Storyline

The year is 184 AD. The Han Dynasty has been overthrown by rebellious warlords who are ravaging the countryside. Violence is the only language spoken now. and the sword has silenced any opposition. All of China is in a state of turmoil as the situationseems hopeless for the people... Yet out of the ashes ot‘ the fallen dynasty. four courageous warriors have united in strength to challenge the warlords. But are they strong enough to restore the Han Dynasty to its rightful place of power? Dynasty Wars lets you become one of the four warriors in their quest to defeat the evil warlords.
