Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2 is a third-person shooter with tactical elements where players battle alien invaders using exaggerated weapons and mechs in a blocky, destructible world. The game blends chaotic shooting with light resource management as squads of soldiers work together to clear waves of enemies. New to this entry is the Wing Diver Shooter unit a fast aerial mech that adds verticality to combat. Single player missions and co-op play support up to four players online or locally. The game leans heavily into its series' signature over-the-top energy returning goofy alien designs and absurdly large weapons from past entries. Fans of the Earth Defense Force series will notice direct callbacks to older mechanics and characters with the voxel-based art style making everything feel more exaggerated than before.
