Eden Blue feels like a fighting game wearing an adventure game skin. You control a character who moves through levels while punching and kicking enemies in real time. The combat system pulls moves from traditional fighters but simplifies the inputs so anyone can jump in without needing years of practice. It plays out as a single player story with plenty of action, though you will also find local split screen multiplayer if you want to fight friends on the same screen. The developers at Team Eden focused on making the mechanics tight rather than just throwing waves of enemies at you. Players have noted the balance between depth and accessibility works well for both newbies and veterans who know their combos. The story mode carries a full length campaign, and while more modes are coming, the current roster already offers enough to keep things fresh. It stands out because the combat feels responsive without punishing mistakes too harshly.
