Eggomania is a frantic arcade game where you wear a hat and dodge eggs raining down from the top of the screen. A bird flings eggs toward you, and your job is to catch them before they reach the bottom. Each missed egg adds messy yolk to the floor, and too much yolk means game over. After surviving a round you can fling your collected eggs back at the bird to score extra points. The action speeds up over time, making it harder to avoid the onslaught. Two modes let you switch between a bigger hat for easier catching or a tighter challenge. The game shines with its simple yet addictive reflex-testing gameplay. Released in 1982 for the Atari 2600 it supports both solo and two-player action. While not complex by modern standards its escalating tension and quick rounds make it a surprisingly durable pick. Players often mention the satisfying physics of tossing eggs back at the source as a standout twist. The dated graphics don’t matter when you’re scrambling to save your head from a barrage of eggshells.
