Elden Ring: Launch Edition bundles the base game with collector focused extras. This action RPG drops you into a harsh fantasy world where you play as a Tarnished, a banished hero returning to fight for control of a shattered kingdom. Battle hordes of enemies across varied landscapes while upgrading weapons and spells to survive brutal encounters. Progression leans on trial and error with deaths offering small rewards but no hand holding. Solo runs or cooperative play with others are both viable though multiplayer options remain limited to occasional invasions and teamwork. The Launch Edition adds a metal case with special artwork plus printed memorabilia like art cards and a poster. While the game itself demands patience with punishing difficulty curves, its intricate world design and layered combat earned it universal acclaim. With over 150 hours of content reported by players, this set appeals to both completionists and those wanting physical keepsakes. Available on multiple consoles and PC, it remains a top pick for fans of punishing but rewarding action games.
Elden Ring takes place in the Lands Between, a fictional realm over which several demigods rule. It was previously ruled over by the immortal Queen Marika, who acted as keeper of the Elden Ring, a powerful force that manifested itself as the physical concept of order. When Marika shattered the Elden Ring and disappeared, her demigod children began fighting over pieces of the Ring in an event called The Shattering. Each demigod has a shard of the Ring called a Great Rune, which corrupts them with power. In the game, the player character is a Tarnished, one of a group of exiles from the Lands Between who are summoned back after the Shattering. The player must traverse the realm to repair the Elden Ring and become the Elden Lord.
