Elements of Destruction casts you as a disgruntled scientist with a taste for chaos. After being fired and nearly killed by your former employer you harness the power of tornadoes earthquakes and lightning to wreak havoc on cities worldwide. Each mission drops you in a new location where you must creatively deploy natural disasters to destroy targets and disrupt infrastructure. The gameplay mixes real time strategy with physics based destruction as you figure out the best ways to use environmental forces. You might collapse buildings with tremors hoover up vehicles with a vortex or fry helicopters with plasma bolts. The game’s main hook is its focus on using nature as a weapon in clever combinations. While it has a small cult following it’s often overlooked in discussions of strategy games from the late 2000s. The single player campaign leans into its over the top revenge plot giving each level a clear objective wrapped in a globetrotting story. What sets it apart is the freedom to approach challenges in unpredictable ways though some players found the controls and interface dated by modern standards. It’s a niche title that still offers satisfying bursts of destructive problem solving.

Storyline

Dr. Edgar Herbert's employer tried to kill him by dropping him into the Atlantic, far from civilization. Washing up on an island, Edgar found an old nuclear testing facility on it and started planning for a new project. Now able to turn himself into energy, upload to a satellite and go anywhere he has one last goal to complete..... His revenge.
