Elvira II: The Jaws of Cerberus is a first-person adventure RPG where you pick from four character classes each with distinct starting traits. Move using onscreen arrows click to grab items and drag them to inventory. Combat happens by selecting enemies and choosing from four attack styles while scavenging weapons scattered through the game world. Dialogue options are limited to brief phrases but most interactions involve combat or puzzle solving. Leveling up boosts stats as you kill foes explore areas and use spells from a customizable book. The spell system stands out requiring players to gather specific ingredients at high enough levels to craft effects for healing combat or puzzle progression. Each spell uses finite resources and castings adding strategy to item management. Released in 1991 it runs on DOS and Amiga with single-player action. Its mix of class-based progression inventory mechanics and resource-intensive magic offers a niche retro challenge for fans of old-school ARPGs.
