Eryner is a PC role-playing game based on a 1996 Korean scenario competition. Your character holds a magical mirror that shows a duel between his friend and an aristocrat. After the fight turns deadly, the hero gets captured while the friend must complete quests for the king to get him released. You control your party similarly to Western RPGs from the late nineties, but you should keep the AI active since manual combat feels unresponsive. Characters can run, yet stamina drains so fast that movement often stops. The gameplay drags as you wait for teams to cross maps or defeat creatures, leaving long stretches with little to do. The story includes fully voiced dialogues with English subtitles, though the translation quality is poor and ignores line breaks. This title suffers from severe technical issues that make it nearly unplayable on modern systems. Missing backgrounds, crashes, and broken save files plague the experience. The worst problem involves crucial plot events that simply never trigger during playthroughs. Installation problems add another layer of frustration for anyone trying to run this on current Windows versions. Despite the interesting premise from its competition origins, these bugs overshadow the conventional combat and setting.
