Expendable is a third-person sci-fi shooter built for chaos and carnage. Play as one of two cloned super-soldiers fighting alien hordes across 20+ levels of destructible environments. The focus is pure action, dual-wielding blasters, rocket launchers, and particle cannons to mow down waves of robots, monsters, and giant alien bosses. Upgrades let you swap between 18 weapons mid-combat, encouraging aggressive play over strategy. The single-player campaign is straightforward, but the real draw is teaming up with a friend for co-op mayhem or facing off in deathmatch modes. What stands out is the relentless pace and variety of weapons. Players can chain explosive power-ups with rapid fire, turning every encounter into a high-octane spectacle. The Dreamcast and PlayStation versions run smoothly, even by modern standards, and the co-op mode remains a highlight for local multiplayer fans. While the 1999 release date makes it a relic for some, its no-nonsense shooting and upgradeable arsenal keep it entertaining for retro action buffs.
Somewhere in the future a hostile alien race conquers most of the galaxy. Scientists developed the “Millennium Soldier” project by cloning two super-soldiers. Armed with blasters they will battle scores of monsters, robots and boss aliens to save us and get a well-earned reward. In 2463 a race of vicious aliens has invaded human planets, wiping out the population of Novocastria first. Only the Millennium Soldier can lead the human fightback.
