Falsion is a 1987 shooter from Konami that takes a behind-the-ship perspective, letting you blast through waves of enemies in a fast-paced, vertically scrolling format. The gameplay focuses on reflexes and pattern recognition as you navigate tight corridors and avoid explosive hazards. While the visuals are simple by today’s standards, the tight controls and aggressive enemy designs keep things brisk and addictive. What stands out is its compatibility with the Famicom’s rare 3D imaging system, a gimmick that gave players a pseudo-stereoscopic effect. This made Falsion one of the few titles to leverage that hardware, though the feature was short-lived due to the system’s fragility. Fans of retro shooters might appreciate its place in history, even if it doesn’t rank among Konami’s most memorable entries.
