Family is a short, slow-burning adventure game where you play as Mother, a member of a family trapped inside their own home. Unable to step outside, she passes the time by exploring surreal dreamscapes from her and Father’s shared bedroom. The gameplay revolves around wandering these shifting environments, uncovering fragmented memories and quiet moments that hint at the family’s unspoken struggles. What lingers most are the quiet, eerie tones and the sense of isolation. Created as part of the 2017 Dream Diary Jam, it’s a brief but poignant entry in the Yume Nikki fan community. While the lack of clear goals or resolution might leave some wanting, it’s a minimalist experience that leans into its own strange, introspective mood.
