Family Dog is a chaotic 1992 SNES platformer where you control a misfit canine navigating three distinct environments. As the family pet, you dodge tennis balls and vacuum cleaners in a house filled with traps, then escape a militarized obedience school guarded by aggressive Dobermans. The final level shifts to a wild forest where you use acrobatics like flips and spins to collect bones while fending off predators. Power-ups and a fetch mini-game add brief respites between the relentless obstacle courses. Based on a short-lived Spielberg and Tim Burton animated series, the game leans into its absurd premise with quirky level design.
