"There really isn't much you can say about Skully. It's a rolling platformer that relies on rather simple concepts to sell the experience. It's enough to make the game engaging and in a number of sections challenging, but it really doesn't do anything to stand out. Story is largely just there, dialogue is a bit on the stiff side and visuals often look underwhelming. This isn't to say there is absolutely no reason to play Skully, it actually does a number of things well, it just doesn't stand out in any particular way, ultimately making average feel shine through."

Fancy Skulls is a first-person shooter where every death matters. Procedurally generated levels keep things unpredictable and you’ll face enemies with weird quirks like teleporting when damaged or leaving explosive traps. The art style leans bold and cartoony but the challenge is no joke. Combat demands strategy with weapons that all play differently and can be modified in wild ways. One mod might refill ammo while you’re airborne another could let you earn cash by landing 12 perfect shots. What sets it apart are the creative power-ups and enemy interactions. Snatch a matchbox to set foes ablaze or grab a kite to glide through levels. Some items let you turn enemies’ own bombs against them adding layers to encounters. The weapon tweaks feel like mini-games in themselves rewarding experimentation over brute force. Though released in 2014 it still stands out for its tight design and fresh mechanics that keep matches lively even after multiple respawns.
