In Faraway Story, you take on the role of Pia, a trainee pharmacist in the coastal town of Port Fina. Your main task is to cure a mysterious illness spreading through the town but the path there is anything but straightforward. Gather rare ingredients from local environments craft potions and manage your shop while recruiting allies to aid your quest. A floating landmass looms over the town, the Faraway Continent, which becomes central to your investigation. The game splits into two parts with the first section fully realized and the second still in development. The game’s lone community tag Mind-Bending sits at 1 vote but hints at its tricky puzzle elements and layered storytelling. While the crafting and shop-building mechanics feel familiar the mystery of the floating continent and branching investigations set it apart. With over 200 hours logged by top players it leans into slow burn progression and deep lore rather than fast action.
