Farland Story Denki: Arc Ou no Ensei is a turn-based strategy RPG where you direct a large party across a world map during combat. Each battle lets you assign moves to characters before enemies respond. You can strike foes within weapon range or use spells that affect groups. Characters grow stronger through levels, items, and gear swaps. The story follows Arc, a knight who became king after defeating a demon threat, but new complications arise when a sacred weapon vanishes during his reign. The game emphasizes careful planning over action, with battles unfolding in layered phases. Its 1994 release on the PC-9800 series positioned it as a sequel with refined mechanics from its predecessor. The narrative twist, questioning whether the main villain was truly defeated, adds mystery to the conflict. Players who enjoy methodical combat and character progression may find the tactical depth engaging, though the dated presentation limits its modern appeal.
After Arc and his friends have defeated the evil Demon King, the brave knight was chosen to be the next king, and the lovely priestess Ferio agreed to be his wife. On the day of coronation, Arc and his little sister recall the events of the grand battle, when suddenly they hear a noise from the shrine with the Hole Sword. When they rush there, they find out the sword was taken away by demons. So, was the Demon King not defeated by Arc after all?
