FIFA Online 2 is a free-to-play soccer game from EA that lets you manage and play with digital versions of real teams. It launched in 2007 and sticks to the basics of competitive matches and seasonal progression. The controls and visuals feel dated but the core gameplay of passing shooting and defending holds up. Solo mode lets you build a club and work your way up while online matches let you face off against other players in quick 3v3 or 5v5 games. The game’s free model was a first for the FIFA brand especially in Asian markets where it found a dedicated following. Though it lacks the depth of later FIFA titles its straightforward approach and frequent updates at launch made it a hit for a time. Some players still keep it running on older PCs but EA shifted focus to newer titles in the late 2000s. A relic for fans of early online sports games.
