About

Fire Fighter casts you as a rookie firefighter racing against time to rescue toddlers trapped in blazing high-rises. You juggle two tools: a water hose to douse flames blocking your path and a trusty axe to dispatch mechanical threats like wind-up soldiers and explosive jack-in-the-boxes. Each level tasks you with rescuing multiple babies, which requires backtracking through multi-tiered structures while avoiding falling debris and timed fire spreads. The Game Boy’s directional pad feels clunky for precise platforming but the urgency of saving lives keeps the pace frantic. Despite its 1990s tech limitations Fire Fighter nails the panic of a burning building. The enemy placement and level design force strategic route planning though some puzzles feel more like traps than challenges. With no online leaderboards or modern polish it remains a niche pick for retro gamers who appreciate the simplicity of its rescue mission. The original 1988 arcade version had smoother mechanics but this port’s charm lies in its pixel-perfect panic.
