First Date: Late to Date is an adventure game built around picking your way through a cringey romantic mishap. You control Erdem, a guy trying to salvage his first date with Derya after being hopelessly late. Every minute or so, a choice appears, apologize, make a joke, or improvise something wildly inappropriate. The story plays out via pre-recorded video clips, with your decisions dictating whether Erdem fixes his mistake or spirals further into chaos. It’s lightweight but intentionally awkward, leaning into the anxiety of modern dating with a comedic edge. The game’s branching paths create dozens of possible endings, ranging from second-date hope to full-blown disaster. Players often note how even minor choices, like what to order at a cafe, can shift the tone entirely. With support on PC, Mac, and mobile, it’s easy to jump in for quick sessions. While the script sometimes leans on predictable tropes, the real-time decision-making and sheer variety of outcomes keep it replayable. A simple concept, but it nails the mix of tension and humor in a way that feels relatable.
Erdem must make Derya forgive him in this late first meeting, or their relationship will end before it ever started. Erdem will be dragged along different paths with the decisions he will make, and he will be able to experience many situations that may arise from the relationship between men and women. Every decision he takes will lead him to different paths and different endings.
