Flak

About

Flak is a top-down shooter where you pilot a fighter through a vertically scrolling battlefield. Your mission is to destroy flak batteries and defenses shielding a rogue computer fortress. Use a joystick to maneuver and a sight to target explosions. The screen moves steadily upward as you dodge enemy fire and blast structures. Four lives let you retry after getting hit. The single-player mode focuses on survival, while two-player takes turns whenever a life is lost. The game’s relentless scrolling and tight controls made it a standout on 8-bit systems in 1984. Storyline

In the year 2096 a huge rogue CPU called Computer Control is trying to take over the universe and you have been tasked to fly in your AGX Hypersonic Fighter and bomb Flak Batteries and other defences to reach the fortress containing the CPU and destroy it.
