"While "3on3 Freestyle" is lacking in many ways, it's still a unique entry on the market that is worth trying out. Given that the game is free, there's really no reason for anyone who may have interest not to do so. There is the potential that new modes, courts and characters through post-release support could make the game more appealing, but the core gameplay may not be good enough for those with current-day expectations of traditional sports games to give it much time to improve."

Freestyle MetalX throws you onto customizable motocross courses where the only rule is to defy them. Race through destructible cityscapes, launch off skyscrapers, and grind rails in a mix of trick-based challenges and chaotic stunts. The game links eight levels into a single open world, letting you bounce between Big Air competitions, timed races, and absurd side events like launching into a dartboard. Progress by mastering skill challenges to unlock new areas and gear, with cash rewards spent on bikes and outfits that barely stay intact during the mayhem. The game leans into its 2003 roots with 16 rider options, including licensed pros and blank slates, all competing in split-screen or solo. Beyond standard modes, you’ll dive off cliffs to rack up mid-air tricks or battle in motocross pinball arenas. A level editor lets you design your own playgrounds, while the soundtrack slams with metal classics from Megadeth and Motörhead. Though dated by today’s standards, its loose structure and willingness to let players trash environments keep it oddly memorable for fans of reckless freedom.
