Gadget and the Gadgetinis is a single player action game built around the animated series of the same name. You control the titular detective and his robot family as they solve crimes using over-the-top gadgetry. The gameplay mixes platforming with light puzzle solving and combat. Bright visuals and recognizable characters carry the experience though the mechanics feel dated by modern standards. Based on a 2000s cartoon spinoff of the classic Inspector Gadget franchise this 2004 release only saw distribution in Europe. Developed by KO Software and published by Hip Games it maintains a cult following among retro fans. The game’s charm comes from its source material but its technical limitations and short playtime prevent broader appeal. Nostalgia for the PS2 era keeps it relevant but it won’t convert newcomers.
