Galaxian is a 1979 arcade shooter where you pilot a ship at the bottom of the screen blasting waves of enemy craft dropping from above. Enemies fire back and shift positions mid-level, forcing quick reflexes and steady aim. The single-player mode challenges you to survive increasing difficulty, while a two-player split-screen mode lets you team up against the onslaught. Simple controls and fast action make it easy to pick up but tough to master. Despite its age, Galaxian still draws competitive players drawn to its tight scoring and high replay value.
