Galaxy Deka Gayvan is a side-scrolling brawler where you play as Hiro or Michiko, two agents who can transform into powered-up superheroes during combat. Progress by clearing waves of enemies through punches, kicks, and special moves. Collect energy scattered across levels to switch into Gayvan or Mittchi, which boosts damage output and unlocks charged attacks. The game lets you tackle stages solo or team up locally, with both players sharing resources and switching between normal and superhero forms. A separate versus mode pits characters against each other in one-on-one fights using simplified controls. The co-op design stands out for its seamless integration of teamwork mechanics. Transformations add a strategic layer to fights without overwhelming new players. While its 1993 Turbografx-16 visuals feel dated, the tight combat and optional local multiplayer keep it engaging for fans of retro brawlers. The inclusion of a competitive mode was ahead of its time, offering replayability beyond standard beat-em-up fare.
Earth is the most beautiful planet in the galaxy, and its peaceful existence is threatened by the criminal mastermind Ballas. The galaxy police sends two agents to deal with the threat: Hiro Aoyama and Michiko Akasaka, who can transform into the powerful super-fighters Gayvan and Mittchi, respectively, and are alone able to stop Ballas.
