Garage Sale is a quiet role-playing simulator where you play as a curious resident of Lettuce Village during its annual community-wide garage sale. You wander through neighborhoods picking up odd trinkets, chatting with eccentric locals, and piecing together fragments of the town’s past. Each item has a story, like a rusted key that once unlocked a hidden garden or a painting left behind during a decades-old mystery. Progress depends on rummaging through crates, haggling at stalls, and choosing which items to keep or pass along. The pace is slow but deliberate, with dialogue and discoveries shaping a lighthearted yet oddly heartfelt narrative. The game’s charm comes from its attention to mundane details. Every object feels like a portal to someone’s forgotten life, and the village itself becomes a character through its cobbled streets and mismatched houses. While there’s no combat or high-stakes drama, players who enjoy figuring out stories through small interactions might find satisfaction in tracking down every sale item. Early builds impressed with their cozy atmosphere, though the final version won’t launch until June 2024.
It wouldn't be a garage sale without lots of treasures! Throughout the game, you'll be able to shop at various garage sales, yard sales, and stores to find storied antiques, homemade crafts, and sentimental trinkets that provide glimpses into their former owners' lives. (And, if you explore every nook and cranny in Lettuce Village, you'll find just enough coins to purchase every item in the sale. You're welcome.)
