Gekirindan is a fast-paced vertical shooter from Taito where you pilot one of three distinct战机 through a series of levels spanning ancient ruins, medieval castles, and futuristic battlefields. Each stage is packed with waves of mechs and bosses, requiring quick reflexes and precise bullet-dodging. The game supports solo or split-screen multiplayer, letting you team up to take down the colossal Huge Boss and his time-traveling army. What sets Gekirindan apart is its mix of historical and sci-fi settings, each level visually distinct thanks to the time-travel premise. The six playable pilots, though only three are available at launch, each have separate weapons and abilities, adding variety to runs. While the 1995 release leaned heavily on arcade hardware, the Sega Saturn port brought smoother frame rates and improved visuals, helping it earn a cult following among shooter fans for its chaotic energy and replayable stages.

Storyline

In the year 3195, a time machine is created on Earth and is promptly stolen by an unidentified mechanized being known as "Huge Boss". This evil entity uses the device to travel back in time and rewrite 3000 years of human history. The only resistance Huge Boss faces is a group of six fighter pilots from multiple eras who aim to stop him, although some of them have their own motivations other than saving mankind.
