This PS2 beat 'em up pits players against a parade of kung fu masters, gangsters, and weirdos in Ura Shinjuku's lawless back alleys. You control Ban and Ginji, the Get Backers duo, trading fists and gadgets in a hyperactive side-scroller full of exaggerated moves and environmental hazards. Combat leans into the series’ signature absurdity, letting you yank enemies into traps, slap on electric gloves, or just punch until they splatter. The single-player campaign weaves through the anime’s established chaos, with a script that’s equal parts comedy and carnage. Released only in Japan in 2004, this is the final game in the Get Backers series and a niche entry in Konami’s late PS2 catalog. It’s a fast, goofy romp for fans of the show’s over-the-top energy, though the dated visuals and repetitive enemy types limit broader appeal. Despite a small cult following, it remains a footnote in the beat ‘em up genre, but one that captures the manic spirit of its source material.
