You play as an AM Driver in a world where alien machines called Bugchine attack Earth. The game mixes turn-based planning with real-time combat as you command your squad. Your choices affect the story which splits between two factions fighting over a government conspiracy. Upgrade weapons and manage resources between missions to survive escalating battles. The game leans heavily into its anime roots with voiced characters and cutscenes. The 2005 PS2 release had detailed mech designs and a branching plot that let players pick sides. While not widely released outside Japan, fans of tactical mecha games remember it for its deep strategy layers and morally gray storyline. The conflict between truth and control plays out through your decisions in each mission.
In the near future, the mysterious invader "Bugchine" will suddenly attack all over the world, and the people of the world (ordinary citizens), who are the only ones who can fight against them, "AM Driver", will fight day and night, rejoiced at their success and were enthusiastic about their mighty power. But when AM Driver's relationship with Bugchines were revealed as a self-made play by the government, the situation changed and led by Jenus, the protagonist of the conflict between the Federal Council, which is the government, and the Justice Army, which is a rebel group, they worked to stop the war and fought to find out where the truth was. In the midst of this, the Justice Army attacked the important base of the government side, and the battle was about to enter a new phase.
