You play as a kid standing in a foggy graveyard outside a creepy mansion. Your friend is trapped inside, and you have to sneak through five screens of spooky traps to save them. Dodge ghosts hiding behind tombstones, witches patting the door, and demons that pop out when you least expect. The screen is mostly dark, with lightning flashes as your only light source. Once you grab your friend from a glowing coffin, you still have to get back out alive. It's a mix of exploration and quick reflexes, with puzzles hidden in the chaos. Released in 1983, this title is a relic of early home computing. Despite its age, it packs a surprising amount of tension and clever level design for 8-bit systems. Community archives note its tricky difficulty and lack of hand-holding, which either frustrates or charms depending on your patience. Retro fans on forums often praise its atmosphere, calling it one of the first games to make a haunted house feel genuinely eerie. The gender choice at start was ahead of its time, though the pixel art and sound effects still scream late '80s arcade vibes.
