About

Gods of Defense layers roguelike randomness onto tower defense strategy. Procedural maps shift with each run as enemies pour from gates toward your central temple. Build traditional towers or summon chaotic forces like tornadoes and dragons to shred waves of attackers. Push back the gates to expand your territory and earn Faith, a permanent currency spent on permanent upgrades. Each few waves bring a fickle Fortune encounter, doling out towers or modifiers that tilt your strategy. Corruption trails from some enemies slowly rot your defenses, forcing you to balance offense with map hygiene. The game thrives on its tangled feedback loops. Early choices compound unpredictably, boosting one god’s power might backfire if their domain clashes with later boons. The Annihilator tower, unlocked after defeating the Eye of the Evil, offers a late-game reset button but demands precise placement. With 40+ towers and escalating enemy mixes, runs rarely play the same. Community logs show 65% of players hit the third wave before collapsing, but 20% persist past 20. Faith-driven progression keeps even failed attempts feeling meaningful.

Storyline

Gods of Defense is a Roguelike Tower Defense set on a procedurally generated maps. The God stands atop a temple at the center of the map. Enemies spawned from the gates attack the temple. Build the towers to kill the enemies. After every wave push the enemy gate farther into the unknown, thus revealing more of the map. Every few waves you will be graced by the Goddess of Fortune, who will offer you new towers and other valuable boons. Learn to play her whims. The game is as much about understanding geometry of the chance, as it is about the geometry of the map. The temple can fall when enough enemies have penetrated it. And fall it will. But when it does, you can keep the Faith you earned during the run. You can use it to unlock new towers and boost their abilities. If you persist, it won't be long before you will unveil the source of enemies. As you reveal the Eye of the Evil, it will go berserk and spawn a torrent of enemies. You will conquer this eye with a free Annihilator tower. The enemy offensive is not just limited to attack on the Temple. Some carry corruption trails that infect the towers on the way. When corruption exceeds certain limit, it leads to curses. You must learn to avoid corruption or to mitigate its consequences.
