Godzilla: Archipelago Shock by Scarab Entertainment lets you command Japan’s military in a battle against giant monsters. Set in a 3D isometric world, you direct tanks and vehicles in real time to intercept Godzilla and other creatures rampaging through cities. Each unit has health points that drop with every hit from kaiju attacks or failed maneuvers. Your goal is to weaken monsters before they reduce entire districts to rubble while keeping your forces alive long enough to land a decisive blow. The game ties to the 1995 movie Godzilla vs. Destoroyah but plays like a frantic tactical simulator more than a narrative experience. Its focus on resource management and positioning stands out, requiring quick thinking as you balance offense and defense. Released just a few months after the film’s debut, it feels like a rushed side project, still functional but niche. Fans of old-school RTS who don’t mind dated visuals might find satisfaction in the chaos, though the single-player campaign offers little beyond its Godzilla-centric gimmick.
Based upon the 1995 film Godzilla vs. Destoroyah, the player plays the role of the JSDF. The player is supposed to direct the tanks and other military equipment on a 3D isometric playing field and attack Godzilla and the other monsters while they are ravaging and rampaging through cities. When the player attacks Godzilla or takes damage from him or other monsters, their health points degrade until one of the units or the monster is defeated.
