"The Elder Scrolls Online: Gold Road is a worthy addition to the ever-expanding game. The Scribing feature is a great addition for players who want to customize their character's abilities and the Mirrormoor Incursions help make the world feel alive. While these newly-added features help set Gold Road apart from the previous expansions, it does fall into the trap that many annual expansions are prone to where it does feel like the new features are marking off items on a checklist. Gold Road is a good addition to The Elder Scrolls Online, but after eight expansions in ten years, each expansion starts to feel like it is treading familiar ground, even with the well-done new features."

About

Gold and Glory The Road to El Dorado casts you as one of two bumbling adventurers chasing a myth. Switch between Miguel and Tulio as they scavenge for clues across tropical jungles, swamps, and ancient ruins. The game mixes point-and-click puzzle solving with real-time sword fights against wild animals and enemy combatants. Each level tasks you with gathering fragments of a mysterious map while avoiding traps and environmental hazards. Combat feels clunky but adds urgency to the otherwise methodical exploration. The story leans into slapstick humor with over-the-top set pieces like battles on a sinking galleon and a deadly fire trap. Developed by Revolution Software known for their quirky narrative designs this title leans into action more than their usual fare. The 20 levels offer varied settings but repetitive enemy types can dull momentum. Still fans of 2000s adventure games appreciate the bold mix of exploration and combat. A horseback sequence late in the game provides a surprising highlight letting you ride a steed through ruins. The PlayStation and PC versions remain playable relics of an era when point-and-click titles embraced chaotic energy over polish.
