Gold Cliff casts you as a treasure hunter racing through crumbling ruins to grab keys and swords in timed challenges. Navigate shifting walkways to deliver keys to locked chambers or carry weapons to the top to dispatch patrolling enemies. Each of the game's four-level cycles ramps up the tension as crabs swarm the screen after the clock ticks past 30, forcing you to dodge without losing momentum. Released in 1988 as Nintendo's final Game & Watch before the Game Boy, this title introduced a Continue button that let players restart from their last level. Its tight level design and growing time pressure have earned it a cult following among retro enthusiasts. With no modern re-releases, it remains a rare example of Nintendo's pioneering handheld experiments.
