Golf is a straightforward sports title that simulates the basics of the golfing experience. Players take turns swinging at pixelated orbs on a grid-based course, aiming to land them in a target hole with minimal strokes. The control scheme is limited to basic input, which keeps the gameplay simple but lacks depth. The absence of power curves and trajectory adjustments makes each shot feel more like a coin toss than a calculated swing. Still the turn-based structure allows for brief back and forth matches. This two-player option was unusual for a 1982 release, especially on the underpowered Arcadia 2001. While it lacks the polish of later golf games it shows one of the earliest attempts to translate the sport to a home system. The minimalist visuals and rudimentary scoring system haven't aged well but there's a certain charm in playing a game where the green is literally just a colored block. For its time it was a bold experiment though modern players will find it more of a historical curiosity than a playable challenge.
