About

Goodbye World mixes puzzle platforming with a serialized story about two indie game developers fighting to stay afloat. You navigate 12 stages of environmental puzzles while following Kanii and Kumade across 13 story chapters. The platforming challenges range from simple spatial reasoning to timed sequences that test precision. Between levels, dialogue and visual novel-style scenes show the pair balancing creative struggles with part-time jobs and financial stress. The gameplay and narrative directly mirror each other with Kanii's problem-solving in puzzles reflecting his real-world efforts to build a successful project. The game stands out for its tight integration of mechanics and story. Each puzzle solution unlocks the next chapter of the protagonists' lives making progress feel earned and meaningful. Player reactions often highlight the relatable portrayal of creative burnout and persistence. With hand-drawn art and a runtime around six hours it offers a compact but emotionally resonant experience. Released in late 2022 it found particular praise for its honest depiction of artistic collaboration. The 1:1 ratio of gameplay to story ensures neither element overshadows the other creating a cohesive package that lingers after the final stage.
