Gran Trak 10 is a 1974 arcade racing game where players push their skills to beat the clock. The goal is simple: finish laps as fast as possible to score points. You steer with a wheel, shift gears using a four-position lever, and use foot pedals to control speed. These physical controls were unheard of in arcades before, making the experience feel like driving a real car. The game used diode-based ROM to render simple car graphics, track layouts, and onscreen timers. At the time, this hardware was a step ahead of most competitors. It introduced arcade players to tactile driving controls a decade before the trend took off. While no modern ratings track its legacy, it’s often cited in retro gaming discussions as an early racing staple.
