The game leans into the decade with licensed songs from bands like Def Leppard and Bon Jovi plus neon-lit visuals and characters in 80s fashions. It adds co-op play and split-screen modes but otherwise sticks to the formula from Guitar Hero II with no major changes. The 80s theme is consistent but doesn’t make up for the lack of innovation.
