Hammerin' Hero is a side scrolling platformer that turns urban cleanup into chaotic fun. Play as a brawny enforcer tasked with driving the Korumoku gang from public spaces. Each level is a physics driven playground where you bash enemies with hammers, bats, and even fish. The action leans into slapstick violence with exaggerated hits and environmental puzzles. Progress through distinct areas like a TV studio and baseball field, each packed with obstacles and foes to pummel. The game stands out for its absurd tool selection and brisk pacing. Developer Irem crammed every level with breakable objects and creative attack options that keep fights feeling fresh. While it never gained massive attention, its goofy charm and accessible controls have earned it a cult following. The PlayStation Portable version remains the most convenient way to swing wildly at onscreen threats. Simple mechanics and colorful visuals make it easy to pick up and even easier to overcommit to a hammer combo.
