Hang-On II is a follow-up to the original SG-1000 racing game that puts you on a motorbike hurtling through city streets. It plays almost identically to its Mark III predecessor but swaps sharper visuals for simpler graphics and includes the arcade version's soundtrack. The game supports the BH-400 handle controller, a peripheral designed specifically for the SG-1000 that mimics riding a motorcycle. While it serves as a direct sequel to the arcade original, the game bypasses the arcade's direct follow-up entirely. This makes it a strange but functional bridge between home and arcade versions. As the only SG-1000 title made for the BH-400, it’s a niche artifact of early ‘80s hardware experimentation. Released in 1985, it’s a minor tweak rather than a major evolution, with a Master System upgrade arriving the following year to address its visual limitations.
