Hanjuku Hero Tai 3D is a real-time strategy game that swaps medieval battles for a surreal 3D world. You command Lord Almamoon’s forces as they defend against wave after wave of geometric Egg Monsters. The gameplay loops around base building resource gathering and tactical unit deployment but with a kooky twist. Units and environments are rendered in bright polygonal styles that clash and pop against the game’s anime-inspired aesthetic. Combat is fast-paced and chaotic with emphasis on quick reflexes and map control. The game stands out for its visual identity which mixes rudimentary 3D models with frantic action sequences. While it never gained a huge following it has developed a cult reputation among fans of quirky strategy games. The single-player campaign is straightforward but packed with over-the-top boss fights that feel like miniature action games. Released in 2003 it shows its age in polish but remains a bold experiment in blending strategy with third-person action.
Lord Almamoon and his kingdom are sucked into an alternate 3-dimensional world and must fight off polygonal Egg Monsters.
