Hank's Voyage puts you in control of a new recruit for the Jazz Association of Secret Spies. Your mission takes you to 1948 Egypt where you must find a missing colleague and solve ancient mysteries. The core loop relies on using your fedora as a multi-tool gadget to sneak past guards, trigger switches, and hack into locked areas across five distinct zones. You navigate side-scrolling levels that blend classic platforming with stealth mechanics while avoiding detection from enemy patrols. The game leans heavily on 16-bit aesthetics and a lighthearted tone that keeps the spy plot from feeling too serious. It mixes sci-fi gadgets with Egyptian mythology without ever getting bogged down in lore dumps. Players have noted the hat mechanics are surprisingly deep since one item handles most of your interactions. The soundtrack features original jazz tracks that fit the era perfectly. You can play through all five locations in a single session, making it a solid pick for fans of retro indie games who want quick but challenging puzzles.
In the year of 1948, a group of talented jazz musicians formed the Jazz Association of Secret Spies, also known as JASS. Their main directive: maintain world peace at all costs. As one of their agents goes missing in Egypt they send Hank, their most recent hire, to investigate what they believe to be a routine mission. Join Hank in his journey to Giza as he unravels secret conspiracies and sheds light on ancient mysteries. Help him to sneak past his enemies, use his hat gadget to solve different puzzles, and gain different powers that will help him make his way through 5 different locations. Inspired by the classics of the 16-bit era, the 1950’s jazz scene, and Ancient Egyptian mythology, Hank’s Voyage combines platforming with stealth and sci-fi elements mingled with a tongue-in-cheek sense of humor.
