Happy Tree Friends: False Alarm is a puzzle platformer where you guide a cast of anthropomorphic animals through wacky perilous levels. Each character has distinct abilities letting you solve environmental puzzles while avoiding deadly traps. The single player campaign tasks you with navigating increasingly complex stages filled with hazards and brain teasers. Controls are straightforward but the challenge ramps up quickly as you progress through the various locations. The game leans into the absurd humor of the source material with over the top fatalities and cartoonish visuals. While not critically acclaimed it built a niche audience drawn to its quirky charm. Released in 2008 it remains a curious entry in both Sega's and the HTF franchise's history. The PC and Xbox 360 versions play similarly though the controls feel more natural on console.
